
About Mr. Josef Wollitz

We are excited to announce our newest addition to the
St. Johns Stage family, Mr. Josef Wollitz!
Josef began studying dance at the age of eight. At the age of twelve he began his advanced training with the Florida Ballet with an emphasis on Classical Ballet.
For his freshman year of high school, Josef attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in order to peruse his dance career. It was at Douglas Anderson that he had the opportunity to study under some of Jacksonville's most influential choreographers such as: Jennifer Turbyfill, Myra Fernandez-Torres, Britney Boyd, and Rhonda Stampalia.
He then went on to attended the Florida Ballet Conservatory where he trained in the Vaganova Method with
Christopher Ramsey.
In 2019 he competed in The Youth Grand Prix with variations choreographed by Deidre Burger and Susie Dodge placing third with his classical variation. He was invited to the finals in New York City with a contemporary duet.
He then studied Ballet and Modern with the Houston Ballet and trained under Claudio Munez. Josef followed the year out at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet training in the Balanchine Method with instructors Simon Ball, Darla Hoover and Renato Penteado.
Josef is currently a part of the Florida Ballet Company under the direction of Roberto Foreo.
We are proud to have Josef as our Leading Ballet and Modern Instructor and collaborating with the St. Johns Stage staff as one of our choreographers.
